The Second cycle program consisting master program (lauree magistrali) and 1st level vocational master courses (master di primo livello).

Application Procedure

Check whether you belong to EU or EU-equated nationals i.e. “Country Category”

Check  admission requirements and courses available at the Higher Education Institutions in Italy: The list of second cycle degree programs offered in Italian universities is available online at the websites of the Ministry of Education, University and Research-MIUR   and of the Ministry for Foreign Affair.

EU nationals, EU-equated citizens and non-EU citizens residing in Italy on a regular residence permit, can apply directly to their preferred Italian institutions and submit their educational records/transcripts or any other document issued by their home institutions.

Non-EU applicants living outside Italy needs to submit their pre-applications to the Italian Embassies or Consulates. After thorough examination, the Italian embassies or consulates forward the admission application and attached documents to the concerned Italian institutions. The Non-EU students need to provide an evidence of Italian language proficiency in order to gain admittance to the Italian Institutions.

Documentation

For EU Nationals and EU-Equated Citizens

The following documents must be uploaded or submitted to the University you’re applying to:
  • Official degree certificate and transcripts: graduation certificates issued by the University and official transcripts that include the exams taken, grades and credits. 
  • Two passport-size photographs, out of which one must be certified
  • Copy of your stay permit issued by the able Italian police office (for Non-EU nationals legally living in Italy)
  • Copy of Passport along with copy of the page that includes all the personal details
  • Letter of Motivation: A letter of motivation is a way to introduce yourself to the admission committee or panel. It should include answers to questions, such as what attracted you to this particular program or university, and why you should be selected. It is essentially an opportunity for you to prove yourself in a short document that gives insights about ‘you’.
  • Curriculum Vitae: The Curriculum vitae is pivotal for admission to the Second Cycle program at Italian Institution. It is a summary of your skills and accomplishments. It must describe your career aims, educational awards, or honours achieved. It should be clear and concise.

For Non-EU Students

The Non-EU citizens living overseas, who do not have an Italian residence permit, must submit their formal pre-application to the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence.

Pre-Application Procedure

Applicants must submit the Application Form  to the Italian diplomatic authorities, accompanied by the following documents: 
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent first cycle degree
  • Academic Credentials: University transcripts that includes exams taken, grades and other necessary things. All the documents must be translated into Italian and certified by the authorities of the country in which they were issued.
  • Each degree must be accompanied by the Certificate of Equivalence of Qualification (Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco), that is issued by the Italian Embassy in the country in which the qualification was given.
Applicants must contact the Embassy or Consulate to know about their pre-application request status. If the application is accepted, the eligible applicants can collect their documentation and, once in Italy, submit it to the International Students Office as required by the institution for admissions. 

Evaluation Process

The applicants might be required to take an interview or an entrance exam for admissions to second cycle degree program. The applicants must visit the websites of  respective Institutions and know more about it.
